About this game

Color Sort Puzzle is a sorting game played with flasks of coloured liquid stood in a row. The board holds a fixed set of colours distributed across more flasks than colours, and finishing a level means every flask holds one colour and nothing else.

The frame is tall and narrow, with the flasks occupying the middle of it and nothing else competing for attention. Beyond the standard levels the publisher lists a Timed mode, and the interface tracks a score, a last score and a high score separately.

How to play

The game directs you to select a first flask and then choose one holding the same colour. Selection is two taps rather than a drag: the first lifts the top band of liquid, the second decides where it goes.

Liquid only pours onto its own colour or into an empty flask, and it moves as a whole band rather than a single unit. That rule is the entire puzzle, because it means a colour buried under two others cannot be reached until both are somewhere else.

Tips

• Keep one flask completely empty for as long as you can. An empty flask is the only place an unmatched colour can go, and a board with none left is usually already lost even when it looks tidy.
• Pour onto the larger band, not the smaller one. Combining two bands of the same colour is only progress when it frees the flask underneath, so moving three units onto one saves a move that the reverse wastes.
• Plan the last two flasks before the first move. The colours that finish in the flasks nearest the ends are the ones you will have fewest options to relocate, so choosing them early avoids a dead board later.
