Drifting Mania is a racing game about one manoeuvre. The instructions describe timing drifts through track corners, so the car is never really being steered in the ordinary sense; it is being held sideways for as long as the corner allows.

The advice the game gives itself is to keep the car near the middle of the track. That is the whole balance: a drift held too long carries you to the outside, and one released early leaves the corner unscored.

How to play

The stated sequence is three actions. Tap to begin, hold the screen at a marked contact point to enter a drift, and release to end it, which makes the length of the hold the only continuous input you have.

Contact points are marked rather than judged by eye, so the corner tells you where the drift may begin. The referenced interface adds a progression level, achievements, colour customisation, rewards, a music pack and a pause screen around that single move.

Tips

• Release before the corner straightens rather than after. The drift ends where you let go, and a car still sideways as the track unwinds is pointing away from the next contact point.
• Treat the middle of the track as the target line, not the inside. The instructions name the centre for a reason: a drift that finishes wide leaves no room to enter the following corner at all.
• Ignore colour customisation until the progression level stops climbing. The look of the car changes nothing about when a contact point appears, and the rewards are better spent where they affect the run.
