About this game

Archer Go is a target-shooting game set in a forest clearing, with the archer standing on the left of the frame and a target mounted on a post beside him. The whole board is visible at once and nothing scrolls, so every shot is a judgement about the same picture.

Two counters bracket the top of the screen. A quiver on the left holds the arrows you have left, reading 6 at the start of a round, and a target icon on the right carries the current score with a separate BEST figure beneath it.

How to play

Draw and release to shoot; the arrow leaves along the line you pull, so aiming and power are the same gesture. A hit near the middle throws up a BULLSEYE banner across the frame, which is the game's way of telling you the shot scored more than a rim hit.

The quiver count is the limit rather than a clock. Arrows do not come back, so a round lasts exactly six shots and ends when the quiver empties, at which point the score is compared against the stored best.

Tips

• Take the bullseye rather than the safe hit when the quiver is still full. Rim hits still score, but with only six arrows a round of safe shots cannot beat a stored best that was set with centre hits.
• Reset your aim between shots instead of repeating the last draw. The target is remounted after a hit, and the pull that scored a moment ago will not necessarily reach the same spot on the new arrangement.
• Ignore the Skins button until a best score is banked. Changing the archer or the target alters what you are looking at without changing what six arrows can do, and a familiar picture is worth more than a new one.

The provider's listing files Archer Go under arcade, archer and summer olympics, naming the title Archer.io and the embedded build Archer Go!. The browser keeps a best score alongside the chosen archer and chosen target, so the two Skins selections persist between rounds while the score does not.
