About this game

Conquer.io is a territory game in which you paint ground by driving over it. The provider states the rule plainly: keep moving, because conquered territory can be lost again, which makes standing still the one thing the game will not tolerate.

Progress is measured as a share of the map. A run closes on a card headed CONQUERED with a percentage beneath it, and one finished run reported 1%. The browser keeps separate holdings for several country maps, tracked individually for the United States, Canada, Ukraine and Russia.

How to play

Steer continuously; the arrow keys register, and the up key produced the strongest response of any single input. There is no brake worth using, because ground only becomes yours while you are still driving over it.

The closing card pays coins for what you held, showing a base figure of 55 in one run. Beneath it sits an arc reading X2, X3, X5, X3, X2 with a travelling pointer, and stopping the pointer sets a multiplier: the same run offered 165 coins behind a video advert, or No, thanks to take the base.

Tips

• Cut wide loops rather than tight ones. Territory is claimed by the path you complete, so a long circuit returns more ground per second of driving than repeatedly sealing a small patch you already own.
• Come back to your own edge, not to your starting point. What matters is closing a shape against ground you already hold, and the nearest owned border is almost always closer than where you began.
• Skip the multiplier when the base payment is small. The arc runs from two at its edges up to five in the middle, so a weak run trades a video advert for a handful of coins, while a strong one is where stopping the pointer well actually pays for itself.
