About this game

Word Seasons frames its puzzles as a journey through the seasons, which is the publisher's stated task: discovering hidden words as that journey advances. The theme carries the progression, so levels belong to a season rather than simply following a number.

The opening board is small. Seven blank answer tiles wait above a round tray carrying the letters I, T and F, and the same three characters have to account for everything the level is asking for.

How to play

A hand prompt in the tutorial shows the input directly: words are formed by dragging between letters on the tray. There is no keyboard entry and no separate submit, so releasing the drag is what commits an answer.

The interface tracks more than right and wrong. Alongside Play, Settings and Level it carries Used and Locked labels, an extra guess, a Continue control, saved progress and an advert prompt, so a failed level is not necessarily the end of an attempt.

Tips

• Watch the Used marker rather than guessing at random. It records what has already been tried, which on a three-letter tray is the difference between exploring and repeating yourself.
• Take the extra guess when a level is nearly complete, not when it has barely started. It buys one more attempt, and that is worth most when a single tile stands between you and a completed board.
• Let the season theme narrow your vocabulary. The puzzles are grouped around a journey through the year, so when a chain will not resolve, seasonal words are a better place to look than the dictionary at large.
